There is no application fee for domestic applications. Please refer to the special requirements page above for more information for the following courses: Doctor of Business Administration Graduate Diploma in Education Graduate Diploma in Adult Education and Training Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice Graduate Certificate in Business Administration Master of Business Administration Master of Journalism Master of Forensic Accounting Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology All Creative Arts degrees Nutrition & Dietetics/Exercise Science/ Rehabilitation/some Nursing degrees Master of Business Coaching cOURSEWORK DEGREES Coursework programs have all (or the majority) of their requirements met by the completion of face-to-face classroom subjects in a particular discipline or professional area. Assessment may be based on a combination of written assignments, presentations, formal examinations, class participation or practical exercises. Individual courses may offer students the chance to include a research subject. There are three main types of coursework degrees: MASTERS BY cOURSEWORK (1–2 YEARS) For those who have a recognised Bachelor degree in the same discipline as the Masters degree, or in a related discipline. There are some Masters degrees which are open to students with a Bachelor degree in any major, for example the MBA, Master of Professional Accounting and Master of Computer Studies. GRADUATE DIPLOMA (1 YEAR) These courses are normally for students seeking to take a different educational direction from their Bachelor degree. GRADUATE cERTIFIcATE (6 MONThS) A pathway to further study for those without a Bachelor degree, but with other academic qualifications and relevant professional experience; or those with a Bachelor degree in a different area. ARTIcULATION Completion of a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma may lead to entry into a Masters degree, in some cases with advanced standing/credit. Refer to the course descriptions section of this booklet for further information. ENGLISh LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS If you are a domestic student and English is not your first language, you are required to provide evidence of satisfying the University’s English language and other requirements listed on the International Students site. If you have completed an academic qualification conducted entirely in English within the last two years in a country where English is the official language, you may meet the University’s English language requirements. Consideration of applications to the Faculty of Creative Arts may take longer as applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Selected applicants will be invited to attend an interview after applications are reviewed. Applications for Research degrees may take up to six weeks to process. Applications for the Graduate Diploma in Education and postgraduate Nutrition, Dietetics, Psychology and Exercise Science degrees are considered after the relevant closing date. hOW TO DEFER If you wish to defer your place in a program, you must apply to UniAdvice for approval. An online deferral request form can be accessed at www.uow.edu.au/future/youroffer Please note that some degrees cannot be deferred.
