The Faculty offers postgraduate programs across Visual Arts, Design and Media Arts, Creative Writing and Journalism, Sound – Composition and Music Production, and Performance (Theatre). The Faculty of Creative Arts has achieved an international reputation for innovation and excellence through the outstanding calibre of our staff whose arts practice, research and scholarship is represented and recognised at the leading edge of the arts field. In 1985, the Faculty established Australia’s inaugural Doctor of Creative Arts degree focusing on practice-led research. Since then, the vitality of our research teams has led to a distinctive contribution to artist-driven research and scholarship through Australian Research Council Discovery and Linkage grants. Australia Council fellowships and grants have supported the highest level of individual performance, publication and exhibition. SARP aims to promote and coordinate: Creation, production, publication and dissemination of composition that extends the boundaries of musical art forms; Development and application of sound technologies for music through enhanced instrument design, radio and film production, gallery installation, text-sound, new media performance and online delivery; Collaboration between time-based disciplines in the creative arts and collateral disciplines within informatics and engineering. The program provides students with the skills required to produce news stories for broadcast and online media. MOREu GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN JOURNALISM Starting sessions Autumn Location Wollongong Availability FT/PT Duration 6 months The program provides students with an understanding of the industry and the basic skills required to produce news stories. Students also gain an understanding of the legal and ethical issues that impact on journalism as practised in a western liberal democracy. For those embarking on their first novel, script or collection of poetry, a Master of Creative Arts allows you to expand your repertoire of writing strategies and to develop and fine-tune your manuscript in an atmosphere of supportive criticism.
